Florida DrupalCamp is proud to announce Jennifer Lea Lampton as our first featured speaker of 2014!
Jen has been working with Drupal since 2006, and has been actively participating and contributing to both the codebase and community for the majority of that time. She maintains a number of Drupal modules and is very active in the Drupal community, including being the lead organizer for BadCamp - the largest Drupal camp event in the world.
In addition to maintaining modules and organizing community events, Jen also is helping to replace the entire theme system within Drupal 8 - a monumental task. She’s also passionate about usability and learnability in Drupal (both core & contrib), and tailors her efforts toward that goal.
Most recently, Jen has become a “founding forker” of Backdrop CMS, which is a fork of Drupal 7. The goal this is to appeal to a different developer audience than Drupal. Backdrop aims to lower the barrier to entry, increase performance, and position itself closer to the market of WordPress.
With all of these accomplishments, we’re privileged and excited to have Jen in Florida as a featured speaker.
